Wellness at Work

So today was the kick-off of our workplace wellness program. Nothing too crazy yet, just a few simple changes:

1. we were all given pedometers .... one co-worker might try and make us all competitive about number of steps a day :-)

2. we were split in "groups" based on the answers we gave to a wellness survey before break

3. we will be having monthly "lunch and learn" sessions on different topics to keep us all in the know. next week is the first one and we will be discussing e-resources to meet our goals.

4. we will be publishing a wellness newsletter every month for the staff to read

*note: when I say "we" I mean a group of staffers that make up the wellness committee*

I have also sent out a little note to members of my group about walking for 30 mins at lunch (we get an hour) twice a week to help with our fitness goals (and keep our daily steps average high ha!). So far things seem like they will be fun .... although I do eventually want to find a way to make this competitive ... because that is who I am!! ha!


Starting Weight: 216 lbs
Current Weight: 189 lbs

Tomorrow I Will:

- walk 30 mins at work
- have dinner with the family
- work out with mom
- try not to go overboard at lunch (pizza, yum yum!)
